Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert had high praise for Ducks Unlimited on May 2 as he signed a state resolution honoring DU for the organization's 75th anniversary. Herbert applauded the organization for the milestone achievement and for its on-the-ground conservation work in Utah and throughout North America. To date, Ducks Unlimited has invested more than $9 million in Utah projects, conserving nearly 40,000 acres of waterfowl habitat statewide.

The governor's resolution was strongly supported by the Utah legislature, with 73 members adding their endorsements. Rep. Curt Oda carried the bill in the House and Sen. Allen Christensen sponsored it in the Senate. The signing ceremony took place in the Capitol's Gold Room.
