We started the memorable week with a Wednesday night party on the USS Midway, followed by engaging business sessions discussing the state of the ducks. Attendees explored San Diego through unique tours, including a private tour below deck on the USS Midway or a top-rated whale tour. The week concluded with a lively gala featuring cocktails, dinner, and an auction.

Everyone celebrated our big year with great food, music, and DU friends from across the country. We look forward to seeing you in San Diego next year!

The Lichenstein Family

We look forward to experiencing DU’s National Convention each year with our kids. They not only get a taste of a new state, but we get the opportunity to show them the fruits of DU’s labor. It’s especially rewarding because we believe it helps them to understand and appreciate that what comes out of this organization comes from all of the hard work that goes in!

Col. Bobby Lee and Marolyn Acomb

Why we attend national conventions: 1. We're always excited to see our extended 'family' and spend time with them. 2. Because we believe in wetlands conservation, we want to learn about updates on the impact of DU projects across North America and get reenergized and challenged. 3. Also we have to admit that we look forward to visiting a new city and seeing the local attractions.

Eric Johnson, CA State Chair

The Convention in Las Vegas last year was my 1st, and it was great! It was fantastic to hear about our continental conservation successes, and about our plans for the future. Meeting so many dedicated volunteers was very rewarding and a lot of fun. Hearing from speakers from all across the country gave me a renewed perspective of all the great things that DU does for waterfowl, our environment and the people who enjoy them. I can’t wait for San Diego!

Brian Klassen, Past CA State Chair

To me as a long time volunteer, the value is unmeasurable!! So many times long time volunteers of chapters, especially active chapters start to get burned out. The National Convention is like a fountain of youth and totally re-energizes you to keep going! It was such a great time being around other DU volunteers and talking about what they are doing in their chapters and what is working and not working and then seeing the National impact that we all are having for the mission! Just a rewarding and fun time overall with like minded conservationists!
