Saturday, August 3, 2019, the
Ducks Unlimited Conodoguinet Chapter had the pleasure of hosting our 1st Creek
Clean-Up event. With launch at Siebert Park, Camp Hill at 9:30 AM and the
conclusion at West Fairview around 3:30 PM, we covered nearly 3 miles of the
Conodoguinet Creek in 5 hours and removed approximately 12 cubic yards of trash
With the weather in our favor and 23 participants in the
water and on the banks, we were able to remove over 20 tires, a variety of
broken glass, aluminum cans, plastic products, 3 chairs, motor parts, a
refrigerator, plastic trash cans, a metal drum, and so many more odds and ends.
We are proud of our efforts to beautify the water trail and truly hope the
community is able to safely enjoy their activities in this stretch of the
pristine Conodoguinet! In aligning with the Ducks Unlimited mission, we also
enjoyed being able to have a hand in preserving and restoring our local
waterway to provide habitats for waterfowl.
We appreciate your assistance in planning and preparing for
this event and look forward to working with you in the future
