Central Florida's Golden Triangle Chapter continues to be one of the state's top chapters. Named for the triangle formed by three towns, Mt. Dora, Eustis and Tavares, the Golden Triangle chapter put on three events and continued record calendar sales, performing year-round fundraising for Ducks Unlimited in 2018. The chapter generated the highest budget income at a dinner event in Florida, conducted a special Greenwing Day event and held a benefit shoot.

"Our success comes from two things. First, we have a strong, like-minded committee that believes working for the cause while becoming good friends in the process. Second, we have strong community support from folks that we know personally and can depend on," Chapter Volunteer Ben Driver said.

Chapter awards for 2018 include President's Elite status, a Gold Chapter Excellence Award, and recognition for a Diamond Event. In addition to raising funds to support DU's conservation mission, since 1995 these dedicated volunteers have built, sold, and maintained more than 790 wood duck boxes in the area.

"The Golden Triangle chapter exemplifies the framework of a volunteer-based organization," said DU Regional Director Brett Bainter. "Working with such passionate individuals that believe in the mission of Ducks Unlimited is rewarding in all facets. I offer sincere thanks to all of the Golden Triangle volunteers for leading the way in conserving our valuable wetlands."
