MEMPHIS, Tenn. Sept. 30, 2019 John Marks was named Ducks Unlimiteds (DU) Regional Director of the Year for his outstanding efforts as a staff member of Region 3, an area that encompasses Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

John has been the most consistent regional director in Region 3 over the last six years, said Bret Plasters, DU director of fundraising and volunteer relations. For him to win this award is very appropriate. I know Johns region will continue to grow and I wouldnt be surprised if he wins this award again soon.

Marks, a resident of Minneapolis, covers the Minneapolis Metro area and works with local volunteer committees hosting fundraisers for the 82-year-old conservation organization. Marks also received the Million Dollar Club Award an award given to event fundraising staff who raise $1 million or more in event income within the fiscal year.

Ducks Unlimited is the leader in wetlands conservation and volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Through more than 4,000 local fundraising events DU volunteers generate more than 500,000 memberships and more than $72 million annually.
