Delawares State Committee chapter hosted its 29th annual Greenwing Day on April 14, 2018. This is one of the longest-tenured DU youth events in the country. The State Committee hosted more than 800 attendees and raised $50,000 for wetlands conservation during the event.

The organizing committee, led by Chris Donahue, did an incredible job with logistics when bringing the event together. We cant wait to make next years event even bigger and better, says Carrie Lingo, southern zone chair for Delaware.

The success of this popular event can be attributed to the strong partnerships the committee has built over the years. Like-minded organizations such as 4-H and the Boy Scouts of America bring new attendees to the event each year while also supporting the various activities throughout the day. Last year, 4-H sponsored the shooting range, where youth of all ages had the opportunity to learn how to safely handle and shoot a shotgun.

With more than 50 vendors in attendance that offered activities ranging from a duck calling contest to decoy carving and artwork, it is no wonder that the State Committee DU chapters Greenwing event was yet again the top event of its kind in the country for 2018. This dedicated committee joins 10 other top chapters in this years Greenwing Honor Roll.
