A coalition will seek to protect important greenspace corridors important to a wide array of wildlife in the Connecticut River watershed through conservation easements and other means with willing landowners.

DU is working with the Wildlife Management Institute, the Conservation Fund, New Hampshire and Vermont Departments of Agriculture, and Divisions of Fish and Wildlife, the Natural Resource Conservation Service and private landowners to conserve important farmland and other habitats in the Northern Connecticut River Valley. There are many riverine wetland systems that are important to migrating and breeding waterfowl in the region, which has been designated as a waterfowl habitat Focus Area by the state of New Hampshire and Vermont, under the Atlantic Coast Joint Venture.
