Fletcher Creek Wetland Restoration was Ducks Unlimited's first conservation project in Connecticut. It is a 35-acre tidal wetland restoration located in Milford, Conn., that was completed in 1993.

Using a donation from Iroquois Gas Transmission System, DU purchased a marsh excavator and donated it to the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection for use by their newly created Wetland Habitat and Mosquito Management Unit.

A reconstructed culvert beneath Silver Sands beach helped establish regular tidal exchange to Fletcher Creek Wetland. Additionally, the excavation of interior channels facilitated tidal inundation of the marsh's interior.

The Fletcher Creek Wetland Restoration is located inside Silver Sands State Park, which offers a boardwalk for public wildlife viewing across the restored marsh area, as well as opportunities for swimming and saltwater fishing.
