MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sept. 30, 2019 – Dillon Schroeder was named Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) Regional Director of the Year for his outstanding efforts as a staff member of Region 8, an area that encompasses Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.

“Dillon and the DU volunteers in Oklahoma and Northeast Texas had an exceptional year in event fundraising,” said Scott Grant, DU director of fundraising and volunteer relations. “This is only Dillon’s second year as a regional director. He worked hard with his volunteers to focus on volunteer recruitment, filling the event halls and making sure everyone has a great time, all while watching expenses. Their hard work paid off for the ducks.”

Schroeder, a resident of Denison, Texas, covers northeast Texas and eastern Oklahoma, and works with local volunteer committees hosting fundraisers for the 82-year-old conservation organization. Schroeder also received awards for $100,000 Growth Club, achieved by $100,000 or more event growth in a fiscal year and the Grand Slam Award, an award given to regional directors who achieve net growth in event income, event attendance, volunteers and existing business and have more new than lost business. He was also named National Regional Director of the Year for Ducks Unlimited.

DU is the leader in wetlands conservation and volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Through more than 4,000 local fundraising events DU volunteers generate more than 500,000 memberships and more than $72 million annually.
