WASHINGTON, D.C. Nov. 16, 2021 Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Robert Bonnie as Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Bonnie is being elevated from his role as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Climate at USDA.

"Robert Bonnie has a strong track record advancing incentive-based conservation practices for all landowners," said DU CEO Adam Putnam. "Ducks Unlimited applauds his confirmation and we look forward to continuing our work with USDA and America's farmers and ranchers to achieve land stewardship that feeds the world and expands the conservation practices that benefit waterfowl, other wildlife and people."

USDA oversees implementation of Farm Bill programs passed by Congress, many of which contribute to Ducks Unlimited's core conservation work with our partners in agriculture. In his new position, Bonnie will oversee programs such as the Conservation Reserve Program, Agriculture Conservation Easement Program and Regional Conservation Partnership Program. These programs have become valuable tools that allow Ducks Unlimited to work with farmers and ranchers to conserve and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. Through these programs, countless wetlands on private lands are restored and millions of ducks are added to fall flight each year.
