New York Ducks Unlimited staff member recognized for excellence

Ron Zega honored for his outstanding efforts as a staff member of Region 6

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Aug. 26, 2016 – Ron Zega was named Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) Regional Director of the Year for his outstanding efforts as a staff member of Region 6, an area that encompasses the Mid-Atlantic and New England states.

“Without the hard work and dedication from the 600-plus Ducks Unlimited volunteers in eastern New York I never would have been considered for this special recognition,” Zega said. “I am very proud to accept the Region 6 Regional Director of the Year award as a result of all of our hard work and the generosity of our donors.”

Zega, a resident of Schenectady, N.Y., covers eastern New York and works with volunteer committees in the state hosting fundraisers for the 79-year-old conservation organization. The events in his region raised more than $700,00 for DU’s conservation mission in the recent fiscal year ending on June 30.

DU is the leader in wetlands conservation and volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Through 4,000 local fund-raising events DU volunteers generate more than 500,000 memberships and more than $53 million annually.

Ducks Unlimited Inc. is the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats.
