MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Aug. 6, 2019 - Waterfowl hunting traditions run deep in Arkansas. This week, DU TV cameras capture great flooded green timber duck hunting action with DU leaders George Dunklin and Steve Maritz near Stuttgart.

Then join co-host Doug Larsen and his son Riley not far away in McCrory, Arkansas, for more hunting and comradery in the flooded woods.

Former DU President and Chairman of the Board George Dunklin is a dedicated conservationist who has spent his life farming and creating habitat for waterfowl.

"I called myself a rice farmer, but I really was a conservationist when I look back at it,&dquo; Dunklin recalled. "I spent my whole career trying to figure out how to conserve water to grow rice while providing more habitat for ducks.&dquo;

Wetlands America Trust President Steve Maritz is also passionate about conserving resources. WAT handles Ducks Unlimited&squo;s property conservation easements guaranteeing lands are protected from future development, benefitting people and wildlife.

"You come to love the land and you want to see that land treated well in the future,&dquo; said Maritz. "Easements are a way to ensure that happens long after you are gone.&dquo;

DU TV co-host Doug Larsen spends some quality time with his son Riley on this episode. Larsen believes in teaching children early about the outdoors.

"Kids should be included in duck camps from the time that they can enjoy the hunting,&dquo; Larsen said. "Wherever I go, I love to see parents and kids enjoying this experience.&dquo;
