Memphis, Tenn. - Sept. 26, 2019 - Ducks Unlimited (DU) recently announced Dillon Schroeder as the 2018-2019 recipient of the National Regional Director (RD) of the Year award. Schroeder was recognized for his outstanding fundraising leadership efforts as a staff member of Region 8, an area that encompasses Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.

"Dillon's success during fiscal year 2019 was incredibly impressive and it's a direct reflection of the relationships he has with the volunteers in Texas and Oklahoma," said David Schuessler, DU's national director of event fundraising. "DU's event fundraising has always been a partnership between the Regional Director and their volunteers, and last year was special for the team in northeast Texas and eastern Oklahoma."

Schroeder, a resident of Denison, Texas, covers northeast Texas and eastern Oklahoma and works with volunteer committees in this area hosting fundraisers for the 82-year-old conservation organization. With the great support of volunteers in Schroeder's region, more than $665,000 was raised for DU's conservation mission in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. That was a 56 percent increase from the prior year. During the same timeframe, there was a 34 percent increase in attendance and a 14 percent increase in volunteers in his region.
