MEMPHIS, Tenn. Sept. 30, 2019 Josh Voelker was named Ducks Unlimiteds (DU) Regional Director of the Year for his outstanding efforts as a staff member in Region 6, an area that encompasses Mid-Atlantic and New England states.

Josh is instrumental in leading volunteer recruitment efforts in Maryland, said Joe Rowan, DU director of fundraising and volunteer relations. A number of committees were reorganized and restructured. Nearly every chapter in Maryland showed healthy increases over the past year. Once again, DU Maryland led the way in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

Voelker, a resident of Chester, Md., covers the state of Maryland and works with local volunteer committees hosting fundraisers for the 82-year-old conservation organization. Voelker also received awards for the $100,000 Growth Club, achieved by $100,000 or more event growth in a fiscal year, the Sustained Growth Award, achieved by recording budget income growth in three consecutive fiscal years and the Million Dollar Regional Director Award given to event fundraising staff members who raise $1 million or more.

Ducks Unlimited is the leader in wetlands conservation and volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Through more than 4,000 local fundraising events DU volunteers generate more than 500,000 memberships and more than $72 million annually.
