Higdon Hideaway

DU TV joins the Higdon crew at their Kentucky farm

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sept. 2, 2021 – This week Ducks Unlimited Television (DU TV) takes you to Kentucky, home of DU TV sponsor Higdon Outdoors.

In this episode, co-host Doug Larsen hunts with Higdon Vice President and co-owner Ben Higdon and Brook Richard, Higdon Corporate Relations Manager, in Ballard County, Ky., on the Higdon farm in the heart of the Mississippi Flyway.

“I’ve looked forward to this hunt all season,” Larsen said. “The Higdon guys are so blessed to have what they’ve got here, for not just hunting but gear testing at home. These guy’s minds are working all the time, always striving to make thing better. I’m one of those guys too, so it’s great to hunt with like-minded individuals.”

Higdon Outdoors is a leading manufacturer of waterfowl hunting and outdoor products. They have been a DU Proud Partner and DU TV sponsor since 2017. Higdon duck and goose decoys are featured on every episode of DU TV and are a big part of the show’s hunting success.

The Higdon family spends countless hours in the field testing their lines. They want their gear to be the most effective and durable waterfowl hunting products available.

“The passion for innovating in this business comes from watching the birds, watching how they react to a concept,” Higdon said. “It’s so much fun to watch birds react to a new product, literally come down and get right over it and land on it. That’s exciting for us and hopefully exciting for the consumer.”

Also included on this episode of DU TV, retriever trainer Mike Stewart of Wildrose Kennels shows you how to prepare your dog to face hunting distractions on “Duck Dog.” Phil Bourjaily talks gun fitting on “Guns and Gear,” and DU CEO Adam Putnam discusses Kentucky wetlands conservation on “Insights.”

DU TV airs Tuesdays at 1 a.m., Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m., Fridays at noon, Saturdays at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Mondays at 3 a.m. (all times Eastern) on the Sportsman Channel. The Saturday 2 p.m. slot anchors “The Landing Zone presented by Ducks Unlimited” waterfowl and upland hunting lineup. Bonus content and classic episodes can also be found at www.ducks.org/dutv.
