DU Launches New Event Portal

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sept. 16, 2020– DU, the world’s leader in wetlands conservation and a conservation fundraising pioneer, recently launched Duck Hub, a new site where extensive information about all DU events, raffles and virtual gatherings across the country can be accessed with ease. Duck Hub is strengthening the organization’s online fundraising presence and enhancing member interaction, during the COVID-19 crisis.

Plans for this new site were in place prior to the current pandemic and DU’s staff and leadership never wavered in their decision to complete the project.

“When you consider it, there was really no better time to launch a new supporter centric interface than now”, explained Amy Batson, DU’s chief of fundraising. “Our ability to host traditional DU events is driven by municipal gathering guidelines, which can change at any moment. Duck Hub allows our chapters to provide detailed information about upcoming in person or virtual events and, host online auctions and raffles where allowed by law.”

Additional features to the site include an event location mapping tool, state-specific browsing abilities, keyword search and social media sharing opportunities.

“The impact of Duck Hub was immediate, said David Schuessler, DU’s national director of event fundraising. “Months of design work, considering the things important to our supporters and volunteers, came together and there was an instantaneous increase in interest for our ongoing virtual fundraising opportunities and ticket purchasing for in-person events. This is a very valuable, and easy to navigate, tool for the organization and those who support our fundraising efforts for wetlands and waterfowl conservation.”
