MEMPHIS, Tenn. May 29, 2020 Texas native Rogers Hoyt Jr. was recently elected chairman of the board of Ducks Unlimited (DU), the largest nonprofit wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization in North America.

I have worked closely with Rogers during my time as CEO of Ducks Unlimited, and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with him in his new position," said DU CEO Adam Putnam. Rog personifies the passion of a grassroots member-volunteer. Hes worked in every volunteer role there is, he is conservation to the core, and he bleeds DU green. His tenure has been marked with new records for conservation and fundraising, and he has been a leader in managing DU through the COVID-19 crisis.

Prior to being elected chairman, Hoyt served as DU's 44th president. During his presidential term, DU reached several milestones including:

Completion of the Rescue Our Wetlands campaign that raised $2.34 billion and conserved 2,236,435 acres.

DU membership achieved record growth with more than 737,000 members.

Record growth in DU Varsity (high school) and Ducks University (college) programs.

In his new role, it will be Hoyt's responsibility to ensure DU adheres to its mission and objectives as set out in the organization's bylaws. He will lead board meetings, attend international, national, regional, state and local events as a representative of DU and serve as a member of DU Canada's board of directors. He will also serve as a trustee of Wetlands America Trust, the endowment and land trust of Ducks Unlimited.

Team DU did a lot of great things while I served as president. Im especially proud to have been a part of our historic Rescue Our Wetlands campaign, which concluded in December 2018, vastly exceeding our goals, Hoyt said. Im looking forward to working with DUs new president, Doug Schoenrock, to ensure that Ducks Unlimited continues its 83-year history of successful wetlands and waterfowl conservation.
