Central Floridas Golden Triangle chapter continues to be one of the top fundraising chapters in the Sunshine State. The chapter is named for the triangle formed by three towns, Mt. Dora, Eustis, and Tavares. In 2018 the dedicated committee members hosted three events and continued record calendar sales, investing time and talent to raise funds for Ducks Unlimited year-round. The chapter also generated the highest budget income at a dinner event in Florida, hosted a special Greenwing event, and held a benefit shoot.

Our success comes from two things, says Golden Triangle volunteer Ben Driver. First, we have a strong, like-minded committee that believes in working for the cause while becoming good friends in the process. Second, we have great community support from folks we know personally and can depend on.

The Golden Triangle chapter earned Presidents Elite status, a Gold Chapter Excellence Award, and recognition for a Diamond Event in 2018. In addition to these fundraising achievements, the chapter also continued its efforts to build, sell, and maintain more than 790 wood duck boxes in the area, a project it started in 1995.

The Golden Triangle chapter exemplifies the framework of a volunteer-based organization, says DU Regional Director Brett Bainter. Working with such passionate individuals who believe in the mission of Ducks Unlimited is so rewarding. I offer sincere thanks to all the Golden Triangle volunteers for leading the way in conserving our valuable wetlands.
