MEMPHIS, Tennessee - April 8, 2019 - Dale Hall, chief executive officer of Ducks Unlimited, was named the 2019 LSU Alumnus of the Year.

Hall, who is retiring from Ducks Unlimited in June, was inducted into the LSU Alumni Association Hall of Distinction April 5. He was accompanied at the event by his wife Sarah, his three children, Erin Hegedus, Adam Hall and Emily Hall, and a host of other family and friends.

"The LSU Alumni Association annually recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves and the university through their careers, their personal and civic accomplishments, their volunteer activities and their loyalty to their alma mater,&dquo; said Cliff Vannoy, association president and CEO. "These individuals have excelled in all of these areas and exemplify the essence of a true Tiger.&dquo;

Hall joined Ducks Unlimited in 2010 after 31 years with the U.S. Fish Wildlife Service, where he served as director from 2005-09. He serves on the boards of numerous conservation organizations and has received many honors recognizing his achievements, the most recent being his induction into the LSU School of Renewable Resources Hall of Fame as Alumnus of the Year in 2018.

He earned a master&squo;s degree in fisheries management from LSU in 1979. He earned his bachelor&squo;s degree in biology/chemistry from Cumberland College in Kentucky.

"LSU changed my life on both personal and professional levels,&dquo; Hall said. "It is truly challenging to adequately articulate the deep impact LSU had on my life. I am forever grateful.&dquo;
