Sept. 17, 2015 - The Dutchess County Ducks Unlimited Chapter will hold its Third Annual Great Swamp Shoot and Conservation Program on Sept. 26, at Tamarack Preserve, a private hunting and fishing preserve in Millbrook, N.Y.

Proceeds from this event will support the vital conservation work of Ducks Unlimited, a national organization dedicated to wetlands conservation and sportsmanship.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature clay shooting, outdoor programs, exhibitors and conservation presentations in association with Dutchess Land Conservancy. Breakfast and lunch are included in the price of tickets.

A live auction will offer several exciting prizes, including:

  • Overnight duck hunt at Quaker Valley Farm in Pawling, N.Y.
  • Fishing trip to Pira Lodge, Argentina
  • Day of sport at Tamarack Preserve
  • Box for a day's racing at Saratoga Race Course

Tickets cost $250 for an adult shooter and $50 for a youth shooter ages 12 to 16. Tickets for non-shooters are $100 and are for conservationists and outdoor recreationists who wish to actively support the protection and conservation of waterfowl habitat. Youth shooters must be accompanied by an adult shooter.
