Boss continues to grow its impressive bismuth lineup with new shot sizes such as loads of 6 shot available this year. There’s also a completely new offering: the Stinger. Federal Premium Meateater Bismuth

Federal has partnered with MeatEater to launch a new ammunition line that includes 12- and 20-gauge loads of bismuth 3, 4, and 5 shot. Three-inch 12-gauge loads contain 1 3/8 ounces of shot rated at 1,450 fps; 2 3/4-inch 12-gauge loads come with 1 1/4 ounces of shot that travels at 1,350 fps; and 3-inch 20-gauge loads carry a 1 1/8-ounce payload rated at 1,350 fps. federalpremium.com

Browning Wicked Blend

Browning’s new Wicked Blend loads consist of 30 percent bismuth shot layered on top of 70 percent steel. Twelve-gauge ammo is available in 3 1/2-inch 1 1/2-ounce loads and 3-inch 1 1/4-ounce loads of steel BBs and bismuth 1s or steel 2s and bismuth 4s, all of which travel at 1,450 fps. There is also a 20-gauge 3-inch 1-ounce load of steel 2s and bismuth 4s that is rated at 1,300 fps.

The Federal Custom Shop produces small batches of Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) turkey and waterfowl loads. For waterfowl, you can choose from 1 1/16 ounce .410 loads rated at 1,250 fps up to 1 1/2-ounce 3 1/2-inch 12-gauge loads that move at 1,500 fps. Remington Wingmaster HD

Remington’s Wingmaster HD ammo is back. Payloads consist of hard, uniform tungsten-iron pellets with a density of 11.6 grams per cubic centimeter, making them slightly denser than lead. Wingmaster HD is available in 3 1/2-, 3-, and 2 3/4-inch 12-gauge loads of 2, 4, and 6 shot, and 3-inch 20-gauge loads of 4 shot. Winchester has expanded its ever-popular Drylok Super Steel line with a 2 3/4-inch 3/4-ounce 20-gauge load of 2 shot. Rated at 1,425 fps, this should be a great option for taking mallards and even geese up close over the decoys with reduced recoil. winchester.com

 

Apex TSS/S3 Steel Blend

Apex has added four new loads to its TSS/S3 Steel Blend ammo, which combines 1/4 ounce of super-dense TSS pellets with uniform, plated steel shot. While the previous Apex blend used TSS 9s, the new ones contain 7 1/2 shot. They are available in 3-inch 1 1/4-ounce 12-gauge loads with steel BB, 2, and 4 shot, while the 3-inch 20-gauge load contains 4 steel shot. All loads are rated at 1,400 fps.
