Stamp It Forward

Hiking 100 miles for $100,000 in Duck Stamps

Prairie Pothole Duck Ruck

Sam Soholt of Public Land Tees is hiking 100 miles through the heart of the Duck Factory in the Prairie Pothole Region now through September 15 to raise $100,000 in Federal Duck Stamps for waterfowl and wetlands conservation.

Sam Soholt started the “Stamp It Forward” campaign in 2019 with the goal of educating people on the conservation value of the Federal Duck Stamp. Since then, Soholt has raised nearly $150,000 in Federal Duck Stamps. But this year, he is reaching bigger for conservation with a goal of $100,000, with 100% of the money raised to be donated.

He is passionate about waterfowl, and always has been.

“I was born right in the Prairie Pothole Region. I did nothing but live and breathe duck hunting from the ages of 10 to 24. I even chose my college, North Dakota State University, based on proximity to good duck hunting,” Soholt said.

This is a “Duck Ruck” for conservation due to the fact that 98% of the purchase price of a duck stamp must legally go directly to help acquire and protect wetland habitat. That means more ducks in the skies for generations to come—a true way to STAMP IT FORWARD.
