Ducks Unlimiteds inaugural Eastern Continental Shoot drew a large crowd of competitive sporting clays shooters to the world-class Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy in October to support wetlands conservation.

The shooting competition featured thousands of dollars in prizes and was presented by Weatherby and Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters. The Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy offered attendees a state-of-the-art shooting sports experience in front of the stunning backdrop of Table Rock Lake.

We are very thankful to our many supporters, sponsors, and volunteers for helping to make this event so successful in its first year, said Todd Carlton, DU director of fundraising and volunteer relations. Everyone worked extremely hard to make sure this event was something people would want to attend year after year.

The Eastern Continental Shoot is patterned after DUs popular Ducks in the Desert Las Vegas Continental Shoot, held every year since 1986. The new shoot offered a 100-target preliminary and 200-target main event, sub-gauge and Super Sporting squad events, and other regular events including 5-STAND and several other side games. All events were governed by National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) rules, but membership in the NSCA was not required for shooters to participate in this tournament.

Were excited that our Eastern Continental Shoot has started a new chapter for Ducks Unlimiteds competitive shooting events, said James Konkel, chairman of DUs National Shoot Committee. We appreciate the support from our sponsors, Bass Pro Shops, and the participants who made this a memorable shoot.

The 2020 Ducks in the Desert Las Vegas Continental Shoot will take place March 48. For additional information, visit ducks.org/shoot or e-mail shoot@ducks.org.
