Ducks Unlimited volunteers and supporters around the country are always finding new ways to raise money for wetlands and waterfowl conservation and share DUs mission with their friends and neighbors. In 2018, Matt Kersey, president and owner of Chevrolet of Dover, contacted DU Regional Director Ben Vaughn to donate a custom Chevy Silverado to be raffled off to support conservation efforts in the state of Delaware.

I believe in wetlands conservation and the important work Ducks Unlimited is doing around the country and in Delaware. I wanted to show my support by donating a custom truck to help raise funds for conservation, Matt says. Habitat conservation is important to me, and I hope to one day pass on these traditions to my grandson.

The truck was raffled off in June and raised more than $80,000 for Delaware Ducks Unlimited. Drew Kavanaugh, treasurer for the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, DU chapter, won the truck.

Delaware DU is grateful to Mr. Kersey for his generous donation, Ben says. The donation not only helped raise funds for wetlands conservation but also brought awareness to Delaware residents about DUs work.
