WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 7, 2026 – The U.S. Senate has confirmed Kevin Lilly for the Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks at the Department of the Interior (DOI). Lilly brings a strong commitment to public access and outdoor recreation to a key leadership role within the DOI.
Kevin Lilly’s confirmation comes as the DOI continues to focus on expanding public access to lands and waters. Lilly has emphasized the importance of ensuring Americans can access and enjoy the nation’s public lands particularly for outdoor recreation. The department’s efforts have not only provided for sportsmen and women but have also strengthened the connection between conservation and outdoor recreation. Lilly will play an important role in carrying that commitment forward and ensuring public access remains a priority within the DOI.
“The Department of the Interior has made historic progress in expanding access to public lands,” said DU CEO Adam Putnam. “Kevin Lilly is well-positioned to continue that work. We appreciate his commitment to increasing opportunities for sportsmen and women and look forward to working with him to keep public access a priority.”
