Brown elected to DU board of directors

Clearwater, Florida's Jared Brown elected to Ducks Unlimited's national board of directors

Clearwater, Fla. – June 24, 2020 – Jared Brown of Clearwater, Fla., was recently elected to Ducks Unlimited’s national board of directors.

“Ducks Unlimited’s leadership assures our organization conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl,” said DU Board Chairman Rogers Hoyt. “Our board members volunteer their time and resources because they are passionate about conservation. I welcome each new board member and look forward to working with them for years to come."

Brown has a long history with Ducks Unlimited beginning in 1999 with the Clearwater, Florida, chapter. He is no stranger to the DU Board of Directors having previously served as an at-large member, Senior Vice President and Emeritus Board member. Brown also co-hosted Ducks Unlimited Television from 2002-2009 and was a finalist for the Budweiser Conservationist of the Year in 2011.

"As a former DU TV host, some of my greatest memories are those associated with sharing a morning in a duck blind with other passionate, waterfowling DU friends and family. Ducks Unlimited’s dedication to putting conservation on the ground is why I have dedicated more than 20 years to the organization,” Brown said. “I have believed in DU’s mission since the beginning and I’m honored to be given the opportunity to once again serve on the board."

Jared and his wife Mary Ellen reside in Clearwater, Florida, and they have two grown children. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Business Administration and manages HG Brown & Associates, LLC, a real estate management and development firm.

For the first time in DU history, board member elections were conducted virtually due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Officers and new members will be recognized during DU’s annual convention in September.
