Wildlife and people depend on wetlands that offer important habitat for birds, pollinators, fish and other wildlife. Wetlands also provide water quality and flood control benefits to communities. Unfortunately, wetlands are disappearing from the Kansas landscape.

Ducks Unlimited and partners are discussing multiple wetland topics in a workshop at the KCPL Prairie Wetland near Edgerton, Kan. A field tour will highlight wetland birds, plant identification, managing invasive plants and wetland management.

The event is from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sept. 12, in the Learning and Career Center, 30750 W. 193rd Street, Edgerton. Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP by Sept. 10, to 913-294-3751, ext. 3.
