Purpose: To restore 420 acres of wildlife habitat on the Dimmitt Playa through moist-soil enhancement and tame grass restoration. Conservation partners will provide two wells, pumps, and water distribution system. Grassed terraces and sod waterways will be provided to help gather opportunity and irrigation tail-water for more economical moist-soil management. This project is managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a demonstration site for wetland management that can be applied to private lands in the region.
