Ducks Unlimited recently received a $55,000 grant for habitat work on Old Hickory Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in central
Tennessee
. This project will improve management capabilities on the area's
waterfowl impoundments. Most of this WMA's 6,000 acres are intensively managed for waterfowl and hunting. Habitat on this WMA consists of hardwood forest mixed with cropland, which is flooded for waterfowl
in winter.
