Migration Alert: North Louisiana Hunters Await Cold, Wet Weather and Increased Bird Activity

The early weeks of the 2014–2015 duck season brought solid hunting throughout Louisiana. However, Jeff Simmons, who authors a duck migration blog for Simmons Sporting Goods in Bastrop, cautions that the weather could impact hunter success in the coming days. "The first couple of weeks of the season were good, with lots of mallards and pintails, but the warm weather and lack of water now has the birds scattered and timid," he says.
