About the Hosts

Doug Larsen

Doug Larsen has lived a life that has always been linked to the outdoors. He has been a tireless duck hunter since early childhood, and he has hunted waterfowl at home and in more than a dozen foreign countries. He has authored two books on duck hunting, "Don't Shoot the Decoys" and "The Duck Gods Must Be Crazy," and he writes regularly for Ducks Unlimited magazine and other outdoor publications. He has waited for legal shooting time across more than 40 seasons yet is always looking forward to the next one. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, two Labradors, and a mountain of waterfowling paraphernalia.

"I'm humbled to be joining the other hosts of DUTV, and I have such admiration for DU and the vital preservation work they do," said Doug. "DU has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember, and when I was a kid, I often dreamt of working with Ducks Unlimited. Years later it is astounding to me to have had that dream come true. I look forward to sharing hunting and habitat insights with DUTV's viewers."

Betsy Newbill

Joining the DU TV family in 2022, Betsy Newbill hails from Dyersburg, Tennessee. She became a Ducks Unlimited volunteer and conservation enthusiast at a very young age. As she grew, so did her responsibilities and leadership positions within local DU chapters.

Being the first female DU National Scholarship recipient, Betsy is a strong leader in her collegiate chapter at Mississippi State University. She is proud of her contributions to the conservation efforts and excited to be a DU TV co-host.

"As a member of a family of avid hunters and DU supporters, my fondest memories are having spent time with my family and friends in the outdoors," Newbill said. "I never miss an opportunity to share my love and support of this amazing organization. It is an incredible honor to be a DU TV co-host and, I am excited to expand my knowledge of waterfowl and conservation."

Fred Zink

Fred Zink is a champion waterfowl caller and founder of Zink Calls and Avian X. He began his career in the fields and marshes around Port Clinton, Ohio, the place he still calls home.

Zink was raised hunting and fishing on the family farm and turned that passion into a living. He built his first duck and goose calls in his father's shop at 14, was a calling champion first in 1990 and started his own company in 2000.

Zink joined the DU TV family in 2019 and brings his tremendous waterfowl hunting knowledge to every episode he hosts.

"I've been a wetlands conservationist and DU supporter for many years," Zink said. "The work DU does for waterfowl conservation ensures the next generations of hunters will be able to enjoy the resource and experience the incredible sights and sounds that is waterfowl hunting far into the future."
