By day, Brian Ford is the controller for the South Carolina Education Lottery. In his free time, he has been volunteering with DU since 2010. Now the state chair-elect, Brian has served as chairman of his local Columbia chapter, state sponsor chair, and on the state campaign committee.

The Columbia chapter holds four events a year and has been recognized nationally for several years running. Volunteering for DU is important to Brian because of his desire to leave things better than he found them.

"This is particularly important to me as it relates to our natural resources, as I spend a significant amount of time hunting and fishing," he explained. "I have seen first-hand the work DU does, and it's a wonderful organization to be a part of. Not only do you spend time with incredible people, and you will not find better people, but you also get to work together to conserve our state's and continent's natural resources."
