WASHINGTON, D.C. - June 2, 2020 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is beginning to accept applications from farmers and ranchers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP).

Ducks Unlimited applauds Congress and the Administration for implementing CFAP to help farmers and ranchers facing immense challenges and financial uncertainty. DU values their producer partners on the landscape who steward the wetlands and grasslands needed for waterfowl to feed and nest successfully.

"Ranchers have always been good stewards of the land, and wildlife are abundant on these landscapes," said DU CEO Adam Putnam. "The fact is, cows and ducks get along great, but the economic challenges that cattlemen are facing strain this essential industry. This assistance will help producers get through these tough times so they can continue their work of caring for the land, while feeding the nation."

More information on the program, including eligibility requirements and how to sign up, can be found here. USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) will be accepting applications for CFAP through August 28th.
