Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (Wetlands America Trust) properties in Nebraska are open to hunting access via a cooperative agreement with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Please review the following rules and regulations for hunting on Ducks Unlimited (Wetlands America Trust) properties, and read, understand and agree to the laws, rules, and regulations of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to hunt on DU (WAT) properties in Nebraska. Please consult the Nebraska Game and Parks Public Access Atlas for locations of DU (WAT) properties.
- All legal waterfowl, small game including upland birds, and furbearers may be hunted during legal Nebraska hunting seasons with the following exceptions.
- Hunting prairie dogs is prohibited on DU (WAT) properties
- The Light Goose Conservation Order is closed at the DU (WAT) Verona property.
- The Wolf North Tract of Verona is Youth Only.
- The Weber property on the North Platte River in Morrill County is open by permitted access only by request to neaccess@ducks.org
- Only approved, non-toxic shot is allowed for the harvesting of upland game birds and waterfowl.
- Obey all Nebraska Game and Parks Commission laws and regulations.
- Hunters are encouraged to report any violations of Nebraska Game and Parks Commission laws and regulations to Nebraska’s Wildlife Crimestoppers @ 1-800-742-7627
- Foot access only. Off-road driving and travel by car, truck motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, etc. is strictly prohibited and will be enforced. This includes retrieval of harvested game.
- Overnight camping is not allowed. Open fires are prohibited.
- Respect the rights of others including other hunters, neighboring landowners, or any work that may be in progress by lessees or Ducks Unlimited, Inc. employees.
- Use and carry firearms in a safe and proper manner. Do not shoot in the direction of neighboring buildings.
- Refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages before and during hunting.
- Respect the property by not leaving litter. Keep the area clean by picking up any refuse that you may see including spent shotgun hulls and rifle-cartridge brass. Please dispose of any and all garbage off-site in an appropriate fashion.
- Do not abuse, destroy, or vandalize any of the property or its improvements.
- Do not harass livestock or hunt in the vicinity of livestock that may be present.
- Promptly report any damage to the area to Ducks Unlimited’s Local Contact 402-364-3135
- Dog training is prohibited from March 15 to August 15.
- DU (WAT).) properties are considered PUBLIC and are not eligible for any Nebraska Game and Parks Private Landowner licenses or permits, such as River Antlerless Private Land Deer Permits.
Each hunter must read, understand and agree to the laws, rules and regulations of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and to those established by Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and assume all liability while accessing this land.
