Ducks Unlimited youth memberships are broken out into two categories: Greenwings are members age 11 and younger; Varsity members are age 12 through 17. Both annual youth memberships are $15.
Greenwing and Varsity membership benefits include:
- DU membership card
- Greenwing or Varsity window decal
- 4 issues of the Puddler interactive online magazine and printed editions of the Puddler (age 11 and younger)
- 6 issues of Ducks Unlimited Magazine (ages 12-17)
- Legacy Greenwing Program
For a one time contribution of $200, the Legacy Greenwing membership covers a youth's membership through age 17, plus his or her's adult membership through age 21. Each Legacy Greenwing receives a specially designed Legacy Greenwing lapel pin, plus all of the above listed Greenwing or Varsity membership benefits according to age group.
In addition, the monies raised through the Legacy Greenwing program in Mississippi are earmarked for a Legacy Greenwing project on the wintering grounds in Mississippi. Each Legacy Greenwing is cast onto a bronze plaque erected on the site of the project (as shown below at the Trim Cane WMA Legacy project).
Mississippi's third Legacy Greenwing project at the Indianola Wildlife Management Area (WMA) north of Indianola, will involve restoration of abandoned catfish ponds to moist-soil impoundments to be managed for waterfowl habitat and hunting opportunity. This project will honor Dr. Ronal Roberson of Charleston, Mississippi, a long time DU volunteer who has been instrumental in the success of the Youth & Education activities in Mississippi.
