Yamaha Rightwaters has committed $225,000 over three years to support Ducks Unlimiteds Gulf Coast Initiative (GCI). This initiative focuses on restoring and enhancing coastal wetlands in Texas and Louisiana that are areas of significant importance for waterfowl and fisheries. In addition to supporting the outdoor recreation economy, DUs coastal wetland projects enhance water quality, sequester carbon, and increase community resilience.

Habitat restoration is an important cornerstone of the Yamaha Rightwaters mission, said Ben Speciale, president of Yamahas US Marine Business Unit. Carbon sequestration through these efforts plays a critical role in preserving and sustaining healthy fisheries for generations to come. We look forward to the progress well make together.

GCI projects supported by Yamaha Rightwaters will help buffer storm surges and promote the growth of submerged aquatic vegetation, which is important to waterfowl and fisheries, including shellfish and other organisms that can remove excess nitrogen from the water.

Yamaha Rightwaters is a national sustainability program encompassing all of Yamaha Marines conservation and water quality efforts. Program initiatives include habitat restoration, support for scientific research, mitigation of invasive species, reduction of marine debris, and environmental stewardship education. Yamaha Rightwaters reinforces Yamahas long-standing history of natural resource conservation, support of sustainable recreational fishing and water resources, and the Angler Code of Ethics, which requires pro anglers to adhere to principles of stewardship for all marine resources.
