After a lifetime dedicated to wildlife and conservation, including his service as director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and CEO of Ducks Unlimited, Dale Hall has announced his retirement effective June 30, 2019. Dale has built a legacy of stewardship and leadership. Throughout his 39-year career in conservation, he has set a standard of excellence in advocating on behalf of our nations fish and wildlife resources.

The Dale and Sarah Hall Legacy Challenge, a fundraising effort conceived by DU volunteers, asks conservationists to honor Dale and his wife, Sarah, by making a gift that goes above and beyond current giving plans or commitments. This legacy challenge embodies the volunteers hope that Ducks Unlimited supporters, who strive to conserve North Americas waterfowl and wetlands, will step up and honor the Halls passion, dedication, and success.

During their many years together, Dale and Sarah have been guided by their steadfast faith in America and their love of family and friends. They have helped build a strong future for Ducks Unlimited and conservationists across the continent. In response to the creation of this legacy challenge, the Halls have committed to directing all their energy to finishing the last year of Dales career by exceeding the $2 billion goal of the Rescue Our Wetlands campaign and impacting as much waterfowl habitat as possible.

Rescue Our Wetlands has not only set a new standard for conservation fundraising but also created momentum that will result in fundraising and conservation delivery at even greater levels in the future. As the campaign winds down, the challenges to waterfowl and wildlife habitat are as serious and immediate as ever, and as a result, DUs staff and volunteer leadership will not let up on our fundraising and conservation efforts. As Dale and Sarah recognize, we must build on the campaigns impressive momentum.

Gifts to the challenge can be made at any level and through any fundraising channel (including major gifts, events, or membership). Donors may simply designate their additional gift as part of the Dale and Sarah Hall Legacy Challenge. Contact your local DU chapter or go to ducks.org/hallchallenge to learn more.
