The California State University, Chico Ducks Unlimited Chapter wouldn’t exist today if not for the Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) Fraternity. Members of AGR, a professional-social agricultural fraternity, chose Ducks Unlimited as their main philanthropy in the early 2000s. Ever since then, the “Chico State” Ducks Unlimited Chapter has been solely run by the AGR Fraternity on campus.

Senior Brandon Reese currently serves as the chapter’s area chairman alongside Jake Koon, who is the co-chairman. Brandon did not come from a hunting family, in fact, he didn’t start hunting until he entered high school. “I began hunting in high school but had no idea what Ducks Unlimited was until I got to Chico State. When I joined the AGR Fraternity I immediately got involved and haven’t looked back since,” Reese said.

The 30-person committee shows a passion for getting things done themselves and giving back to the resource. “We host a spring event, and take a hands-on approach to cooking for the banquet while also running it. We are a tight group who hunts and fishes together while working our tails off to do everything we can to raise money for Ducks Unlimited, and give back to something we love so much,” Reese said.
