GARRISON, Minn., Dec. 27, 2019 – Ducks Unlimited in Garrison, Minnesota, will sponsor its 16th annual Fishing for Ducks ice fishing contest on Mille Lacs Lake from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

The event is the largest attended Ducks Unlimited event in the nation. Last year about 4,000 people enjoyed fishing, food, prizes and music on the frozen lake and raised $200,000 for wetlands conservation.

Fishing for Ducks offers more than $100,000 in prizes plus on-ice raffles, including $20,000 for first place, three Polaris Sportsman 450 ATVs and other prizes.

A kick-off party is planned from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Garrison VFW Post 1816. The party is free to paid contestants.

Fishing contest tickets cost $30 per person per hole, with a limit of two holes per person. Tickets increase to $40 the week of the contest.

Proceeds benefit conservation efforts by Ducks Unlimited, the world’s largest wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization.
