The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation recently became the newest financial supporter of the USA Rice-Ducks Unlimited Rice Stewardship Partnership with a commitment of $50,000.

Rice Stewardship’s focus on optimizing water and nutrient management, energy efficiency, and wildlife habitat as ways to make rice farming even more sustainable has been steadfast since its formalization in 2013. As with all farming, natural resources such as water and soil are the first and most important inputs rice growers depend upon. Fertile soil, clean water and air are under increasingly high demand, and we are dedicated to ensuring the industry remains good stewards of the environment and continues to do more with less. These efforts support healthier waterways and communities while optimizing wildlife habitat and supporting rural economies.

Rice Stewardship funders include the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Walmart Foundation, The Mosaic Company Foundation, Nestlé Purina PetCare, Chevron U.S.A., Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, Irene W. and C.B. Pennington Foundation, RiceTec, BASF, American Rice, Inc. – Riviana Foods, Inc., Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, Delta Plastics, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Corteva Agriscience, Wells Fargo, Farmers Rice Milling Company, Horizon Ag, Turner’s Creek & Bombay Hook Farms, MacDon Industries, Riceland Foods and Ducks Unlimited major sponsors.
