Dear DU Supporter,
Yesterday, I shared DU's response to COVID-19 and answered questions from DU members in a live Facebook video with our National Director of Event Fundraising, David Schuessler. If you didn't catch it, I wanted to provide you with a link to view the full video:
With all the uncertainty and anxiety surrounding us, it's important to get outdoors to experience moments that calm us. Being outdoors allows you to enjoy the beauty and splendor of nature.
I hope you find joy when you see the beginning of that spring waterfowl migration, when a drumming gobbler makes his way toward you, when you wet a fishing line and watch the bobber for a twitch, or when you see a wood duck has made her home in your newly built wood duck box.
It's in moments like these that we're reminded of how essential organizations like Ducks Unlimited are to the future of our natural resources, our wildlife and our people. It's times like these that you're reminded of why we do what we do.
We want to hear about these moments you are experiencing during this time! What are you doing during this period of social distancing? Feel free to share your photos with us on our social media channels by using the #DuckDistancing hashtag. Here are a few great examples that have already been shared on Instagram:
When these restrictions are lifted and we're no longer required to distance ourselves from others in our community, we WILL move forward quickly and with resilience to come out of this stronger, leaner, meaner and more committed to our conservation mission than ever before.
THANK YOU for everything you've done for Ducks Unlimited and everything you continue to do in these times of uncertainty. As we navigate this challenge together, be safe, be well, take care of your family and know that we have your back. We WILL get through this together. God bless you for what you do.
