Construction work on the Brillion State Wildlife Area Impoundment in Calumet County was completed in September 2002. The project developed approximately 50 acres of shallow water marsh that provides valuable habitat for breeding, brood rearing, and migrating waterfowl, as well as a variety of other wetland wildlife including shorebirds, wading birds, and songbirds. The project was a cooperative effort between Ducks Unlimited, the Wisconsin DNR, North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA), Miller Friends of the Field, and Oxbow Sportsman’s Club.
