MEMPHIS, Tenn. – March 14, 2013 – The 4th Annual Ducks Unlimited Pigs in Flight BBQ Competition is coming to Memphis on March 14-16, hosted by Toyota, West Memphis Fence, Midtown Electric, Drake Waterfowl, Adams Grease Service, Budweiser and Discover. This year's event will be hosted at a new location, Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
"We're excited about putting on this event for the fourth straight year," said Event Chairman Tal Goldsby. "It's a testament to the quality of the competition itself and the supporters who help make it happen."
As in prior years, barbecue teams will compete to take home $10,000 in prize money during this unique event, which raises money for DU's wetlands and waterfowl conservation mission.
"Last year's event was a great success, but like any DU event, the Pigs in Flight volunteer committee is always looking to raise the bar," said Will Johnson, DU manager of grassroots promotions and Pigs in Flight committee member. "For the past several years, Pigs in Flight has strived to be the standard by which all barbecue events are judged—we certainly feel it's one of the best in the Mid-South."
