Ducks Unlimited regional biologist Tim Willis is working with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) to plan habitat improvement projects on Tully Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Lauderdale County and on Eagle Lake State Refuge in Shelby County. These projects will improve water-management capabilities on Tully WMA and Eagle Lake refuge, enhancing approximately 600 acres of important moist-soil and flooded agricultural habitat. The improved habitat on Tully WMA will be open to public hunting.

Last December, Willis submitted a North American Wetlands Conservation Act grant application for $1 million to fund the work. DU's partners include the TWRA, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, West Tennessee Basin Authority, National Wild Turkey Federation, and a private landowner.
