THE SECOND ANNUAL
PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS
BICYCLE RIDE BENEFITING DUCKS UNLIMITED
ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS WEDNESDAY AT MIDNIGHT
It’s less than a week to the Second Annual PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS bicycle ride benefiting Ducks Unlimited. On February 7, the PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS ride will be bigger, better, and more exciting this year than last with a new route for the Metric Century along with entertaining rest stops, duck calling and dog demonstrations at most stops and new rest stop sponsors. The 2009 Puddle For the Ducks ride is destined to be one of the best for the year in Houston. There are a number of projects along the route and some of these will be marked for you to see as you ride past.
Online registration will end this Wednesday at midnight.
The registration fee is now $35.00 while registration for Greenwing riders is $20.00 per rider (Greenwing members are age 12-17.) While the Puddle For The Ducks Committee ordered more ride t-shirts this year, there is a limited number and the only way to guarantee receiving one is to preregister.
To register, click on the green button above labeled “BUY TICKETS.” This will take you to a new screen that has three options:
2. Single Ticket
7. Donate To This Event
Greenwing Ticket
To register an adult click on “Single Ticket”, to register a Greenwing Rider, again age 12 to 17, click on “Greenwing Ticket.” Clicking on either of these will open a screen that will allow you to put in the number of riders that you want to register if you are registering more than one rider. And, of course you can help underwrite the ride by clicking on “Donate to this event.”
PLEASE NOTE: Please enter all rider names and t-shirt size(s) in the comments section of the check-out page. Additionally, all riders will need to fill out an Assumption Of Risk Agreement to pick up their rider number. The agreement CANNOT be downloaded from this page. An email will be sent with the agreement the week of the ride. It will be greatly appreciated if you will please print the agreement for each rider and fill it out before picking up rider numbers.
Starting at the Sun & Ski Sports store at Katy Mills Mall, the 2009 edition of PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS will have three routes: a 25 mile, a 45 mile, and a metric century (actually 68 miles) routes. Bring the family and get in shape for the long rides this Spring and Summer. Routes for this year are:

Join us for one of the most exciting and fun rides in the Houston area and along the way, see projects that Ducks Unlimited has done around the route to help to conserve our wetlands heritage. The Ducks Unlimited Mission Statement says “Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.” Help us conserve our wetlands and coastal areas and help migratory waterfowl, water birds, shorebirds, and other animals and people at the same time.
We are looking forward to seeing you on February 7. If you have any questions please email or give us a call.
