We are having a GADU winter meeting in Thomasville, Georgia on January 31, 2009.
Who is invited to attend: all members of the State Executive Committee, all District Chairman and Area Chairman, and any members who want to become more involved in DU.
The meeting will take place at the Quality Inn on U.S. 19 in Thomasville, Georgia and will start at 12:00 with a BBQ lunch for the first hour then we proceed into our meeting until 4:00 - 4:30.
The hotel will honor a room rate for $55.00. The agenda for the meeting is going to be somewhat different in regards to past meetings; we are trying to accomplish a review of our strategic plan and how we can revamp it to fit the GADU needs in this slow economy.
Instead of dwelling on some of our short comings we are going to look at our successes and see where these can be used to assist struggling chapters to be more successful. We are still in the air as to whom some of the speakers are going to be.
The general theme for the Saturday morning meeting is “What works for your chapter and why”. If any of you have any success stories to share please share them with us on Saturday.
***As mentioned in the newsletter, there is going to be a quail hunt on Saturday morning and Sunday morning. This hunt is open to the first 50 paid attendees; the cost for the meeting/ lunch/ hunt is $100, please indicate if you want to hunt Saturday or Sunday morning. Those who you that don’t want to hunt and just want to attend the meeting the cost is $10 for lunch. Those 25 of you not pulled to hunt Saturday morning can shoot five stand (a small cost will be involved) and hunt Sunday morning.
A hospitality room will be hosted Friday and Saturday night, and a card game will surely be available.
