It is that time again for us to hold our annual Summer Workshop!! The workshop that I am inviting you to attend will be held for the following chapters on Thursday night, July 23rd at Lake City Fair Grounds. Please plan to attend this important meeting. We will have food available at 6:00pm, and will follow dinner with our business meeting from 6:30-8:00pm.

There is more reason than ever to attend your Summer Workshop this year, as there are numerous changes and updates that DU has introduced. This workshop will introduce and explain many of these new items, such as: the 2009-2010 Budweiser decoy, the 2009 merchandise catalog, the Gun of the Year, the 2009 FL meetings calendar, and what all it brings with it, and updates on Florida’s conservation projects, the Status of the Ducks and the Breeding Grounds.

We will have a special gun raffle for chapters in attendance at the workshop—here is how it works: Each person attending from your chapter will receive one raffle ticket…the more committee members you have attending the better your chances are to WIN this gun at NO COST for your event!!

BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE!! Each Area Chairman in attendance who brings the following will receive extra tickets for their chapter…DO NOT FORGET THESE ITEMS!!
• Banquet Date: 5 extra tickets
• One original copy of your dealer’s Federal Firearms License: 5 extra ticket
• Updated committee roster with email addresses: 5 extra tickets
• Bring the date of your first scheduled committee meeting: 5 tickets

Bring a crowd of committee members, get a car pool and mark you calendars for July 23rd!! Now is a great time to have a get-together or cookout and get the committee organized; don’t forget to pick a date and location for your dinner and sponsor event. Remember to add new people to your committee over the summer—the more people on the committee the easier it is to put on an event. You also have the opportunity with new committee members to reach more people when it comes time to sell banquet tickets, because new committee members know different individuals and businesses in your area that can support your events.

We will have drinks and a meal available. It is very important that you send me a headcount before the workshop so that I can properly order the food.

On behalf of DU, I would like to ask for your presence at this event. This is a great time to meet with your fellow DU volunteers, ask questions, inquire further about opportunities within DU, and learn what is on the calendar for the coming year. We look forward to seeing each of these committees well represented on July 23rd!!
