Legacy Greenwing Project Named for Frank Appleberry

The sixth Legacy Greenwing project supported by Arkansas Ducks Unlimited will restore 120 acres of vital waterfowl breeding habitat near Rhein, Saskatchewan. Healthy parkland habitat in this area of Canada supports nesting duck densities of more than 50 pairs per square mile, making it one of the most productive waterfowl breeding areas in North America.

Kansas has new Ducks Unlimited regional director

GARDNER, Kan., Jan. 7, 2014 – Ducks Unlimited (DU) has hired Chris Young as its newest Kansas regional director. The Kansas native will be working with DU volunteers in eastern Kansas to further DU’s conservation mission. Young takes over for Russ Hawley, who now works for DU in Texas.

Ducks Unlimited honors Texas staff member, volunteer leader

HOUSTON – Aug. 20, 2013 – Ducks Unlimited recently awarded Senior Regional Director Tim Soderquist a 2012-13 National Regional Director of the Year award for his outstanding efforts as the top staff fundraiser for the organization. It was his second time winning this award in three years.

East Hampton DU Chapter earns high honor

The East Hampton Chapter of Ducks Unlimited has been designated a 2012 New York Chapter of the Year. State Ducks Unlimited officials singled out the group based on criteria that ranged from increased membership to growth in fundraising.

DU's Western Region Celebrates 100,000-Acre Milestone

Ducks Unlimited's Western Regional Office recently celebrated a major milestone as it surpassed the 100,000-acre mark for waterfowl habitat conserved or protected in the Pacific Northwest. "To put it in perspective, that's roughly 76,000 football fields," said Mark Biddlecomb, DU's direction of operations in the region.
