The federal government's budget was slated to expire on Sept. 30. Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR), funding the government for a short time until the annual budget can get passed. A few key provisions and programs integral to conservation are set to expire at the end of September and funding for these programs is in jeopardy. Ducks Unlimited is working with the Congressional committees of jurisdiction to ensure these valued programs get reauthorized.

Bipartisan House members introduce NAWCA reauthorization bill

WASHINGTON – May 29, 2013 – Reps. John Dingell (MI), Steve King (IA), Bennie Thompson (MS) and Rob Wittman (VA) have introduced a bill asking for the reauthorization and appropriation of the public-private partnerships funded by the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA).

WASHINGTON – April 16, 2013 – In a bipartisan showing, lead co-sponsors Sens. Barbara Boxer (CA) and David Vitter (LA) introduced S. 741 today, asking for the reauthorizations and appropriations of the successful public-private partnerships funded by the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA).

President's FY13 budget requests include $39.4M for NAWCA

The president released his FY13 budget request on Monday with recommendations for funding levels of all federal programs. This request now goes to the Congress for consideration as they develop their FY13 budgets, which are scheduled to be released in late March.

NAWCA is hot topic at DU meetings on Capitol Hill

DU seeks Senate sponsor, House co-sponsors to reauthorize NAWCA

With an expiration date of Sept. 30 looming for NAWCA, DU is seeking additional House of Representatives co-sponsors to back H.R. 1960, a bill to reauthorize NAWCA through 2017.
