Newly restored mitigation wetlands to benefit youth hunting

Ducks Unlimited’s first project area for a new mitigation program will be used primarily for youth hunting. DU will complete its first North Dakota In-Lieu Fee Mitigation project this spring on private land near Carrington. Restoring and protecting wetlands on the property will mitigate for development that inadvertently impacts wetlands.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – August 25, 2014 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Memphis District recently released the first Mount Tena Creek Mitigation Bank wetland credits. The bank, located in southern Fayette County, will help offset unavoidable environmental impacts to wetlands throughout the Memphis area.
